This premier vacation rental offers a unique Hawai’ian experience for those who want more than a cookie cutter hotel room and a beach vacation. Located only minutes from Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, this unique home was created by an architect to provide floor to ceiling views of the surrounding rainforest. The home offers serenity and quiet while immersing you in the native mountain rainforest including the sounds of native birds. All this while providing access to one of the most exciting natural wonders at the nearby national park.
The unique bedrooms have amazing views. The main loft bedroom overlooks the main living space with clerestory windows above the space and a wall of windows overlooking the entrance. Another bedroom is a converted artist studio sitting across the Lani from the main space with windows overlooking the front and back gardens which are filled with native plants. The third bedroom has twin beds and and adjoining small bath.
Covered lanais provide for indoor-outdoor living with a gas fire pit to provide warmth on the cool nights you will experience at this elevation in the mountains.
As an homage to the history of the artist community of Volcano, the Hale features the work of vintage Hawaiian artists and numerous special touches. The pan-Asian decor includes vintage Kimono, and a custom rail around the loft incorporating the native Pili grass traditionally used in thatching Polynesian homes across the Pacific. The house also has Koa-style flooring throughout.
Hale Ho’okipa is the private gatehouse/ohana located at the entrance to a 3-acre estate in Volcano Village and is a hosted rental with owners available onsite to deal with any problems or issues.
Self check-in is by electronic keypad. The property is secured by electronic gate and security cameras.
